The Ice Cream Truck
The Ice Cream Truck discovered our neighborhood. I can't decide if I am happy about this or not but I can tell you one thing, Maddie and William jump for joy when they hear the childish jingle playing loudly as the truck rolls in...

I'm pretty sure Mikos jumps for joy quietly inside as well when he hears the music... summer is definitely here and nothing like a yummy ice cream treat to help keep you cool!

Sea World
Mike's cousin Torie came to town this weekend to run the San Diego Rock-n-Roll Marathon. He and his wife and daughter flew into San Diego on Friday night. We headed down Saturday morning and spent the day at Sea World! We had a blast. I haven't been to Sea World since I was a kid and it was such a fun park and so great for kids Maddie and William's age. There were cute little rides in the Elmo kid section, awesome sea life exhibits, and of course, great shows including the famous Shamu the whale show. It was a gorgeous day. The sun was shining and it was hot but a cool breeze from the ocean kept us just cool enough.

By far the coolest show we saw was the new "Blue Horizons" dolphin show. It really was a fantastic show with acrobats swinging from trapeze swings, divers doing flips into the water, characters riding the dolphins around the pool and wild birds wizzing across the audience. Maddie and Wil loved it. Wil said he "wuved" the guys jumping into the water.

We were so happy Grandpa and Grandma decided to buck up and join us for the Sea World fun. Sonja, Russell and baby Lucas came down as well. We decided to get a hotel room and spend the night. We were so glad we did. After Sea World from 11:00-5:00 and dinner in Old Town to celebrate Russ's birthday, we were exhausted! Mikos got up the next morning and got to see Torie running in the race as well so that was super cool. It was a fun, fun weekend and we are already planning our next trip to San Diego for Legoland!

Memorial Day Weekend!
We had a fun and action packed Memorial Day weekend. Maddie and William played Saturday afternoon with their friends from the neighborhood Jenna, Cami and Gavin. It was a hot day and we busted out the little pool and rigged up a fun water slide in the backyard.

After church on Sunday, we were off to the Angels game followed by a marathon run to the beach!

The water was a bit chilly but that did not stop Maddie at all from frolicking with her Dad in the waves. She loves the ocean and had so much fun running and splashing around.

We topped off the weekend on Monday, Memorial Day, with a bbq over at Grandma and Grandpa's house. The kids screamed with excitement when we told them that Grandma said the pool was warm enough to swim! Yeah!! They'd been waiting for so long!

Mother's Day
Spring Performance
Maddie had her spring performance in Chapel on Wednesday May 5. She did such a great job and we so enjoyed her final preschool performance. I can hardly believe school is out in about 3 weeks and than she is off to Kindergarden next fall! Man, before we know it, she'll be graduating high school. These are precious moments... precious times... and we are loving every minute.

Ma's Birthday
It's been one of those months where I wonder where has the time gone? Life has been very busy- in a stressful, chaotic sort of way- but things are finally settling down and I can get back to blogging! The weekend of April 23, we traveled out to Phoenix for Mike's Grandma's 88th birthday party. They call her "Ma" and we haven't seen her in several years since she moved from California. It was a good weekend. It was so great to reconnect and see all of Mike's cousins and aunts/uncles who traveled from all over including Louisiana to be there.
Maddie just loved Torie (Mikos' cousin) and Stacie's little girl Julia.

There seemed to be an abunant amount of flies in the backyard Saturday afternoon during the party and the boys found it quite entertaining to kill them. William and little Frankie figured out flies like trash cans. (kind of gross- I know)
William loved Aunt Norma's dog. I can not remember her name for the life of me right now but she was the cutest dog and William gave her lots of love all day.

Baby Lucas had his first swim adventure while we were there. Sonja had him all decked out in the cutest swim outfit and matching sunglasses. What a little stud. He loved the pool. Maddie and Wil had fun swimming too.
I love this picture...too cool for school.

The weekend was really only "good" because William got sick Saturday night at the party. I left at about 7:30pm when he was not cooling down after waking up from a nap. He ended up having a really high fever for the next 24 hours. I just hung out with him in the hotel room until we flew out Monday morning.
