Toy Story 3

We took the kids to Toy Story 3 Friday night. It was such a great movie! We had a blast. It was the first movie William had ever been to and it was only Maddie's second time at the movies. They both did great and loved it. It was so fun to go as a family. We will definitely be heading out to the movies more often. Yeah! I think we're entering a new phase in our family... so cool.

Mission Possible!

Maddie and William spent all last week at Vacation Bible Camp at our church. It was the first year William was able to attend and he LOVED it. Maddie and her friend who went with her Diana both loved it too. They spent every morning learning bible stories, playing games, doing arts and crafts and singing songs!

When I asked William what his favorite part of VBC was, he answered, "Singing the songs." Talk about melting my heart! The last day, I got to see the kids sing at the closing ceremony. They were adorable up there singing away and doing the motions in their oversized VBC t-shirts! What a great experience for them.

Father's Day

There is nothing like a Sunday afternoon BBQ on Father's Day! Papa cooked up some delicious ribs with all the yummy fixin's. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed just hanging with the family. It was a relaxing day and I managed to snap quite a few pics of Papa, Mikos and William. No girls in these shots! Ironic.

Birthday Rumpus

What a day! We spent the afternoon jumping and running and playing at Fallon and Fletcher's 3rd birthday party. Maddie and William had been waiting for this party since we got the invitation and it sure was WILD...just like the invitation promised! We had a great time. We loved getting to see not only F & F but Lucy, Henry, and Nola too. The kids had a blast. How could they not with all the running, screaming, playing, cupcakes, sodas, popsicles, pinata candy and more cupcakes! It was a great party. Thanks Sarah and Tony. Man... we sure wished you lived closer 'cause we'd love to party with you guys way more! Happy Birthday F & F!

Hungry, Hungry Hippos

Maddie finally used some of her birthday gift card money and picked out a classic- Hungry, Hungry Hippos!Thank goodness for Dad... he's so good at putting this stuff together! I had to post this picture. Can you tell he loves this job? :)

Yeah for Playdates!

Maddie had a special playdate with her best friend Jordyn on Thursday afternoon. Maddie was so excited. We picked Jordyn up at 2:00 and went back to play at our house for the afternoon. This was the girls first week out of school and they were already missing each other. They played so nicely together...dress up, polly pockets, swinging on the swings, playing in the treehouse...and who knows what else up there in Maddie's room! We than met up with Jordyn's mom at their Jazz/Hip Hop dance class at 5:45. It worked out perfectly and we hope to do it again soon.

Weekend Fun in Palm Desert

We spent a great weekend at the Marriott Resort in Palm Desert with our good, good friends the Hearns and the Hunts! We headed out Friday night after work and rolled in around 10pm. Maddie and Wil got snuggled into bed quite quickly and were out like a light and I got to stay up and enjoy some "adult time" with Kama, Kris, Erin and Simon. Mikos was at a golf tournament in La Quinta. He met up with us later on Saturday after we spent a day full of swimming, eating lunch by the pool and more swimming and splashing around!

Lucy looking so cute in her water wings!
William was jumping onto the floaties in the kiddie pool for like 2 hours on Saturday afternoon. He's like the energizer bunny... he keeps going and going...
Maddie pushing Kadence around the kiddie pool in her floatie boat.
Erin and baby Henry. What a cutie he is! He's such a cool baby- he has such a sweet and joyful personality. Fun, fun.
I LOVE this picture of Maddie and Quincy.
Snow cones...YUM!
Maddie and Quincy watching some TV before bedtime.
Maddie, as usual, loved being the "oldest" of the bunch. She really took to Kadence. I'm not too surprised because she loooooves babies.
Mikos and Simon dipping their toes in the kiddie pool.
There is nothing better than a lunch of chicken nuggets and fries poolside!
We really had so much fun just hanging out in the sun with our friends. Thanks to Kama and Kris for coming down for the week and instigating our get together. We can't wait to get together again next year and next year, we'll have to convince our other So. Cal friends to joing us!

The Ice Cream Truck

The Ice Cream Truck discovered our neighborhood. I can't decide if I am happy about this or not but I can tell you one thing, Maddie and William jump for joy when they hear the childish jingle playing loudly as the truck rolls in...
I'm pretty sure Mikos jumps for joy quietly inside as well when he hears the music... summer is definitely here and nothing like a yummy ice cream treat to help keep you cool!

Sea World

Mike's cousin Torie came to town this weekend to run the San Diego Rock-n-Roll Marathon. He and his wife and daughter flew into San Diego on Friday night. We headed down Saturday morning and spent the day at Sea World! We had a blast. I haven't been to Sea World since I was a kid and it was such a fun park and so great for kids Maddie and William's age. There were cute little rides in the Elmo kid section, awesome sea life exhibits, and of course, great shows including the famous Shamu the whale show. It was a gorgeous day. The sun was shining and it was hot but a cool breeze from the ocean kept us just cool enough.
By far the coolest show we saw was the new "Blue Horizons" dolphin show. It really was a fantastic show with acrobats swinging from trapeze swings, divers doing flips into the water, characters riding the dolphins around the pool and wild birds wizzing across the audience. Maddie and Wil loved it. Wil said he "wuved" the guys jumping into the water.
We were so happy Grandpa and Grandma decided to buck up and join us for the Sea World fun. Sonja, Russell and baby Lucas came down as well. We decided to get a hotel room and spend the night. We were so glad we did. After Sea World from 11:00-5:00 and dinner in Old Town to celebrate Russ's birthday, we were exhausted! Mikos got up the next morning and got to see Torie running in the race as well so that was super cool. It was a fun, fun weekend and we are already planning our next trip to San Diego for Legoland!
