Memorial Day Weekend!

We had a fun and action packed Memorial Day weekend. Maddie and William played Saturday afternoon with their friends from the neighborhood Jenna, Cami and Gavin. It was a hot day and we busted out the little pool and rigged up a fun water slide in the backyard.
After church on Sunday, we were off to the Angels game followed by a marathon run to the beach!
The water was a bit chilly but that did not stop Maddie at all from frolicking with her Dad in the waves. She loves the ocean and had so much fun running and splashing around.
We topped off the weekend on Monday, Memorial Day, with a bbq over at Grandma and Grandpa's house. The kids screamed with excitement when we told them that Grandma said the pool was warm enough to swim! Yeah!! They'd been waiting for so long!

Mother's Day

Champagne brunch. Need I say more? It was a great Mother's Day. Oh and Fit Flops. I picked out my own gift at Mikos' request and bought a pair of Fit Flops. Love them! I'm going to have toned legs and butt before I know it with all the flip flop wearing I do in the summer. Cheers!

Spring Performance

Maddie had her spring performance in Chapel on Wednesday May 5. She did such a great job and we so enjoyed her final preschool performance. I can hardly believe school is out in about 3 weeks and than she is off to Kindergarden next fall! Man, before we know it, she'll be graduating high school. These are precious moments... precious times... and we are loving every minute.

Ma's Birthday

It's been one of those months where I wonder where has the time gone? Life has been very busy- in a stressful, chaotic sort of way- but things are finally settling down and I can get back to blogging! The weekend of April 23, we traveled out to Phoenix for Mike's Grandma's 88th birthday party. They call her "Ma" and we haven't seen her in several years since she moved from California. It was a good weekend. It was so great to reconnect and see all of Mike's cousins and aunts/uncles who traveled from all over including Louisiana to be there. Maddie just loved Torie (Mikos' cousin) and Stacie's little girl Julia.
There seemed to be an abunant amount of flies in the backyard Saturday afternoon during the party and the boys found it quite entertaining to kill them. William and little Frankie figured out flies like trash cans. (kind of gross- I know)
William loved Aunt Norma's dog. I can not remember her name for the life of me right now but she was the cutest dog and William gave her lots of love all day.
Baby Lucas had his first swim adventure while we were there. Sonja had him all decked out in the cutest swim outfit and matching sunglasses. What a little stud. He loved the pool. Maddie and Wil had fun swimming too.
I love this picture...too cool for school.
The weekend was really only "good" because William got sick Saturday night at the party. I left at about 7:30pm when he was not cooling down after waking up from a nap. He ended up having a really high fever for the next 24 hours. I just hung out with him in the hotel room until we flew out Monday morning.

Long Beach Grand Prix

Saturday morning we headed down to the Long Beach Grand Prix. It was the first time we'd been and it was AWESOME! It was a Tecate sponsored event and Mike was fortunate enough to be given tickets from his Rep for us all to enjoy (Sarah- I thought of you!). It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun. The kids loved it. We ate some delicious food at the Tecate hospitality tent and landed some sweet Tecate gear that Maddie loved modeling for us. We than headed over to the Grand Stands to enjoy some of the races. It was so cool. The cars were super fast and super loud and we made sure to wear our earplugs.

After watching the race cars zip through the streets, we walked through the Exhibit on our way back to the car. That ended up being really fun too. There were all sorts of race cars the kids got to check out and sit in and there was just a bunch of cool stuff to look at. We also hit up the kid zone where Maddie and Wil got to jump in some overpriced jumpers. It was a great day. Being outside all day really wore us all out! Hopefully this will be something we can go to again next year. It was pretty cool and for William who LOVES cars, it was a big hit.

Sand everywhere!

What an awesome Dad we have! He got the itch to finish up our play area in the backyard and filled our sandbox with lots and lots of sand! We just love it. The only rule dad says is that we need to try and keep the sand in the sandbox. Little did Mom know what a mess a sandbox can be! Even though we're pretty neat with the sand, it seems to stick to everything and end up in the house anyway. Oh well! Mom says when the new carpet comes (which is soon because she's got samples all over the house)... things are going to change. We'll see...
