Easter Breakfast and Egg Hunt

The Thursday before Easter weekend we decided to cancel our weekly swimming lessons so that we could attend the Easter breakfast and egg hunt at Maddie's preschool. I was reluctant because it's such a pain to reschedule swim lessons but in the end, I was so glad we did because both Maddie and William had a fantastic time. It was so cute to see William in a classroom setting with all the other kids. He is so excited to go to preschool next fall.

The kids gobbled up a traditional breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and toast with jam. The egg hunt was soon to follow! It was so cute to see the kids running all over the playground in search of hidden eggs. It was a great way to kick off the Easter festivities to follow!

Dad's First Day

Mikos started a NEW JOB this past week. His first official day was last Monday March 29 but the week earlier he went in to the office for his first unofficial day. Logistics, logistics... but I snapped this photo on his first "unofficial" day with Classic Distributing!

La Quinta Weekends...

We spent a couple of weekends visiting Grandma Jeanne and Papa Mick in La Quinta last month. They rented a great place with a beautiful view and nice pool. William and Maddie really enjoyed getting to see them and loved swimming in the pool. William especially loved the "hot pool"...

The woman my parents rented the condo from was kind enough to let us play with the fun little firetruck she had in the garage. William had fun cleaning it as well. Grandma Jeanne and Papa Mick drove back to Minnesota this week. We miss them already and can't wait to see them in July!

Random snapshots...

Sometime around Christmas, William was protesting his nap BIG time one Thursday afternoon. After sticking to my guns (this time) and insisting he stay in his room, this is what I found sometime into the whole ordeal. Oh man...I melted when I saw this. I can't remember now if I actually moved him to his bed? Ok...how do I follow up with this one? What a stud my little man looks like with his skateboard, huh? (minus the lavender elbow and knee pads). :)
He loves his skateboard and he's actually getting pretty good at balancing on it. He jumps off of it making it flip a little and fall back down hard. He calls that his "cool trick". He says, "watch this cool trick." It's pretty cute except that I'm always holding my breath for the fall... (knock on wood).
Maddie is so creative and fun. Age 5 is such a cool age (well age 4 is too, oh and age 3 too). She's always conjuring up fun little games to do with William in the evening. They play together so cute and so well. The other night she took out every throw blanket we have downstairs and piled them up high on the chair. I guess you can call this one "Queen of the Chair".
This is a picture I took TONIGHT. I actually have NO clue what they are doing. All I know is that they came downstairs and told me they wanted to "scare" me. I love it! So spooked... hardly! What will Maddie think of next?

Babysitting Baby Lucas

Last Friday, Lucas spent the day at our house. Sonja's nanny was out of town so Norma agreed to take care of him for the day. Maddie and Wil couldn't wait for him to get there. I had to practically drag Maddie from the house to get her to school that day. Seriously. Tears were involved... big ones. I kept telling her that Lucas would be there ALL day and that she'd have ALL afternoon to help Norma with him... and it looks like she did! She absolutely LOVES her baby cousin. Both Maddie and William just love him to pieces. It's so cool to watch the beginning of what I'm sure is to be a strong family bond between my kids and their cousin Lucas. I must say, I think he's so adorable myself. I think I'm developing a strong bond to the little man. He is such a sweet baby! We just love, love, love him!

The Duck...

Last week, we invited some of the families from Maddie's Indian Princess tribe and her friend Jordyn from school (of course) to the Ducks game. William remembered the Duck from the last game we went to and couldn't wait to see him. He came walking down the hall past our suite and we attacked him. He was a very cool duck I must admit... he gave lots of hugs and let the kids acost him for a few minutes. Good times.

Lemonade Stand

Maddie and Wil had their first Lemonade Stand a couple of weekends ago. We got home from church on Sunday and Maddie insisted on setting getting started. One of the neighbor kids across the street has been setting up stands now and than and that's where Maddie got the idea. She asked Grandpa to get down dad's cooler and we were committed. She made a great sign, I mixed up some Crystal Light and we used the dixie cups from the kids bathroom. Maddie actually got quite a few customers. We have such sweet neighbors! Who could pass up $.25 cups of lemonade from these two?
